Avaancaa was founded, and is headed and co-ordinated, by Dr. Neville Adams.   Neville has over twenty five years experience of the public sector in various capacities  – employee, consultant, academic researcher, trade union member, as well as community involvement experiences - in the UK, Europe and South Africa, particularly in the area of race equality.  His specialist areas are in the theory and practice of  equality development in the public sector in the UK and Europe.    He is also an Honorary Senior Research Fellow at City University, London.

Avaancaa can also call on other experts in various fields, e.g. human resources, drug services, academic research, local government, Europe, health services to support any project which is undertaken.  Our short to medium term practice interventions are thus  grounded in the real world changes occurring in the public sector and in the linked academic research and theories.

To date we have worked with   local authorities, drug action teams, health services, the European Commission, and the non-statutory sector in the UK and Europe.
